Successful start-up of Expansion Södra Cell Värö 2.0

Södra Cell’s mill in Värö, Sweden, continues to make stepwise and targeted investments for a brighter future. The latest expansion project was successfully started up in October 2021, six months ahead of the original plan. Valmet was a key partner in the capacity increase and two sub-projects on the fiber line and pulp drying line.

Nippon Dynawave Packaging: new pulp drying and baling line increases flexibility

Nippon Dynawave Packaging’s (NDP) new pulp drying and baling line will increase the ability to shift economically between the available fiber while maximizing the current pulp production capacity. Despite the project’s challenging and exciting nature, it marks a new success in the long collaboration between Valmet and Nippon.

Ensuring a smooth pulp drying process

The Vulindela project is an overall expansion project at the Sappi Saiccor mill in South Africa. It will increase the mill’s total output by 110,000 tonnes of dissolving pulp per annum while reducing its environmental footprint. As part of this project, Valmet helped Sappi overcome a bottleneck in their baling line.

One year of successful textile pulp production

In the middle of the health crisis due to Covid-19 and through remote support, Valmet delivered the new production line to ARAUCO, which allowed them to produce textile pulp for the first time in Chile.

Metsä Fibre's Kemi bioproduct mill

Metsä Fibre's new bioproduct mill in Kemi, Finland will have an annual pulp production capacity of 1.5 million tonnes and in addition produce various other bioproducts. The new totally fossil fuel free mill is scheduled to start-up in the third quarter 2023.
