The Outokumpu steel plant is an impressive sight next to the Gulf of Bothnia in Tornio. Despite being Outokumpu’s largest plant, it is very compact with everything close by. The plant produces stainless steel, and its history dates back to the 1960s. Its cooperation with Valmet has spanned decades. “Cooperation has always been key,” says Aleksi Korteniemi, Category Manager, Outokumpu.

On August 6, 2015, Valmet's acquisition of Massimiliano Corsini srl's tissue rewinder business was completed. The acquired company mainly supply rewinders for tissue and non-woven machines. The operations employ 33 people and are located in Pescia, close to Lucca Italy and the new name of the company is Valmet Pescia.
