On September 9, 2024, Valmet marked a truly remarkable milestone – Dennis Gagne’s 50th work anniversary. Since beginning his career in 1974 as a Stockroom Helper in Nashua, NH, Dennis has been a cornerstone of Valmet’s operations, embodying the company’s values and playing a critical role in its growth over the decades.
A Career of Milestones
Dennis Gagne started his career on September 9, 1974, with Ingersoll-Rand, working in a small garage on Burke Street. From those humble beginnings, he quickly moved up the ranks:
- 1976: Promoted to Stockroom Attendant
- 1988: Transitioned to Material Locator Clerk
- 1993: Promoted to Shop Scheduler
- Later: Advanced to Planner/Buyer, where he has been instrumental in supply chain and procurement operations.
Dennis’s journey included navigating several corporate transitions, including the acquisition of Ingersoll-Rand by Beloit in 1995, its sale to GL&V in 2000, and Valmet’s acquisition of GL&V in 2019. Throughout these changes, Dennis remained a constant, playing a vital role in ensuring smooth operations during each transition, particularly in helping to integrate GL&V into Valmet.
A Mentor and Leader
Throughout his career, Dennis has been much more than just a team member. He’s been a mentor, a leader, and a source of inspiration to many. His influence can be seen across Valmet, where his colleagues speak highly of his guidance and unwavering support.
