Could you describe your company in one sentence?
Everest Automation is a premier provider of advanced industrial automation solutions, specializing in optimizing efficiency, elevating performance, and reducing environmental impact with innovative technologies and superior technical services.
Can you tell us briefly about your history of cooperation with Valmet?
Our partnership with Valmet is deeply rooted in over three decades of continuous collaboration. Over the past 31 years, our partnership with Valmet has continually strengthened, securing our position as the premier distributor of Valmet flow control solutions in Eastern Canada. Our combined technical expertise and specialized services enable us to respond proactively to the evolving demands of the industrial processes sector, ensuring exceptional reliability and forward-thinking solutions. This sustained collaboration exemplifies our shared focus on quality and innovation, illustrating a history rich in teamwork and collective achievements.
Can you give us a good example of one of your latest customer success cases?
We recently secured an order for 35, 16-inch Flowrox™ Pinch Valves with electric actuators at a local Cement Plant in Quebec. The pinch valves have excellent wear resistance, 100% tight shut-off even with particles, which allows for there to be no clogging or jamming. Only the sleeve is in contact with the medium and is the only replaceable part, with some sleeves lasting up to 4+ years in cement plants.
What was the original challenge they had? Why did they end up choosing Valmet’s flow control solutions?
The customer faced a significant challenge when their initial order for 35 16” pinch valves with electric actuators, placed with OXO, hit a roadblock. More than six months after losing the order to OXO, the customer discovered that OXO couldn’t even begin manufacturing due to a lack of financing.
What are the results?
In a bid to resolve this critical issue, the customer reached out to us and two other suppliers, including RF Valves. Despite our higher price point, we won the order with Flowrox products. Valmet agreed to manufacture the valves in a 32” face-to-face configuration to fit the already manufactured piping, rather than the standard DIN face-to-face. The normal standard for Flowrox pinch valves is 39”. The valves have been operational for several weeks now and are functioning smoothly. We anticipate finalizing another order with the same customer, but this time for our Auma actuators.
How would you describe the collaboration between you and Valmet?
This order was secured based on the trust we had built with the customer, emphasizing the reliability and flexibility of the Valmet solutions. With the project now critically delayed due to the initial supplier’s failure, timely delivery has become paramount. The order, valued at $870K, is now a crucial element in ensuring the project’s success.
