Successful start-up with remote support
Valmet’s and Ilim Group’s expert teams found new ways to collaborate remotely during commissioning and start-up phase of a new evaporation system at the Bratsk mill.
More than 4 GWh in annual energy savings
When Stora Enso initiated a project targeting a reduction in energy consumption in the TMP refining process, staff at the Hylte Mill called on Valmet for help. Valmet recommended installation of an Adjustable Gap Sensor on each of the three Valmet conical low consistency refiners.
Valmet supplies pulp mill key technology to Suzano in Brazil
The delivery covers the main parts of a green field pulp mill comprising wood handling, cooking plant and fiberline, pulp drying and baling, evaporation, power boiler, recovery boiler, causticizing and lime kiln, including an integrated automation solution for all process areas.
PeriVapor saves energy at the first mill scale trail at BHW Beeskow, Germany
The mechanical steam separator can divert up to 50% of the generated steam from the fiber flow for recycling in the pre-steaming bin.
Leading the way toward carbon neutrality
Since the start-up of the Naistenlahti 3 plant, Tampereen Energia has more than halved CO2 emissions from its total energy production. The new plant is also unique since it pilots partial bed combustion, which is now available for the CFB boilers to boost flexibility in their production structure.
Rewriting the textbook with Eukaliner®
Klabin’s Puma II project in Brazil is making history with new standards for kraftliner production. Their new PM 27 board machine has already achieved impressive results producing Eukaliner® – the world’s first kraftliner using 100 percent eucalyptus.
Cooperation moves Whakatane forward
The Whakatane board mill in New Zealand was able to optimize their existing processes to gain their maximum potential through a Performance Agreement with Valmet.
Not only for pulp and paper: Innovative new products based on wood and straw resources
Intense research is going on in many countries to use biomass more effectively, with terms such as bioeconomy and biorefinery becoming more well known every day. One example is to use the chemical building blocks contained in wood- or agro-residuals as the basic raw chemicals for the plastic industry, replacing oil-based chemicals.
Through hard times to success
Vilnius CHP (Combined Heat and Power) chose Valmet to complete the construction of the biomass unit. Valmet’s offer suited the plant’s needs best when considering the challenging task of restarting the stalled construction and ensuring smooth plant commissioning.
Positive results for Valmet BioTrac Technology in Italian project
Valmet has worked in close cooperation together with Hera Group and Ayrion to develop an innovative prototype based on the Valmet BioTrac pretreatment technology. It is part of the Life Steam project* with the ambition to effectively pretreat green waste before sending it to anaerobic digestion. After months of intense work, the project is coming to an end and is showing good results.
