OptiAir Environment consists of environmental emission control systems for creating a healthy and comfortable mill environment.
Curl control
OptiDry Curl, the new solution for curl control, is based on the impingement drying technology. Traditionally dryer groups with a double-felted configuration have been used for controlling the paper curl by adjusting different top/bottom dryer temperatures and affecting in this way drying on the two sides of the paper. Another traditionally used method is moisturizing (with water or steam), which also influences the curl of paper but at the same time increases paper moisture again.
Valmet's coating drying selection offers energy efficient drying solutions for all kinds of coating drying needs. Economical and ecological air dryers can fulfill all the requirements for higher paper quality, lower production costs and improved runnability.
OptiCoat Roll metering roll coating
In OptiCoat Roll coating an excess amount of coating color is applied to the paper surface with the applicator roll. Final coat weight is then controlled by a metering blade or rod. The coating quality is very uniform and smooth.
OptiCoat Short Dwell coating
OptiCoat Short Dwell is a blade or rod coater with short dwell time application, especially well-suited for high-speed LWC coating. Short dwell time means that water penetration into base paper is minimized. This enables archieving low coat weights easily.
