Automation system management
Quality Predictor
Valmet Quality Predictor is an advanced application that shows real-time values for selected quality parameters.
Automation solutionsEmpowering people to perform at their best
With digitalization, the role of humans will evolve more towards supervising and ensuring that different process areas perform well together, and towards managing exceptions.
Automation solutionsPortable condition monitoring
Valmet Maintenance Pad is a wireless industrial tablet that identifies machinery with potential problems that require scheduled servicing and alerts to risk of breakdowns.
Automation solutionsSegments
Starting from January 1, 2022, Valmet consists of three reportable segments: Services, Automation and Process Technologies.
InvestorsNeles™ pneumatic cylinder actuators, series B1
Neles double acting and spring return B1-series piston type quarter turn actuators are designed for use in both modulating control and on-off service. These actuators offer an extremely long cycle life and are well suited to operate almost any type of rotary valve.
Flow controlNeles Easyflow™ MEG series manual gear actuator
Neles Easyflow MEG series manual gear actuator is a hand wheel operated quarter turn worm gear actuator with high efficiency for greater output torque. These are modular and pre-configured gears with limited torque range. These gear operators are well suited for water and waste water, sewage treatment, mining, fuel oil and gas, cooling or chilled water circuits, desalination, HVAC, cement and other fine powders, mild corrosive chemicals and petrochemical applications.
Flow controlFlow control for ammonia production
Ammonia synthesis is used to produce ammonia from nitrogen and hydrogen. We offer a good selection of suitable valves for ammonia synthesis loop – ensuring safe and reliable operation plus long service life.
Chip washing
Producing quality MDF requires chips that are as free from impurities as possible. Debarking and screening are not enough. Chip washing is essential for producing board of low mineral content. The growing use of purchased chips, e.g. from sawmills, results in an ever-increasing need for chip washing. Existing impurities, in the form of metal, stones and sand, must be removed before the chips enter the process.
Flow control for lithium
Lithium is crucial for the battery industry. As demand for lithium-ion batteries grows, the need for lithium hydroxide and lithium carbonate increases. These materials are sourced from either brine or hard-rock ore. Hard-rock ore processing involves a concentrator plant to produce a concentrate, which is then refined in a chemical plant. Brine processing starts in evaporation ponds or through direct lithium extraction (DLE), followed by chemical processing.
